GrayKey: US Law Enforcement Agencies Now Able to Unlock iPhone: After
a US San Bernardino shooting, a dispute has started in between the US law
enforcement agency and Apple. The US law enforcement agency kept asking Apple
to unlock the shooter's iPhone, but Apple refuses to do the backdoor entry
(unlock) in the iPhone, citing its policy. After all, the enforcement agency has
invested a lot of money and with the help of an Israeli agency it was able to
unlock the iphone. According to the report, an Israeli agency Cellebrite has helped the US agencies in this
work. At the moment Apple has not issued any statement on this development.
According to reports of MalwareBytes, there is a device named GrayKey which can
decrypt (Unlock) the iPhone and it can be easily hacked. It looks like a small
box in which two phones can connect at a time. In a few minutes the software is
installed in the iPhone and it attacks the smartphone's password layer.
How to Unlock iPhone with GrayKey Device?
MalwareBytes has obtained
documents from secret sources where it is told how to target the iPhone while
using it.This device can connect with two iPhone at a time only in just two
minutes. During this time the code is installed in the iPhone which probably
routes the phone.
After 2 minutes, the phone can be
removed from the cable, then a black screen will appear and the password will
appear here. Apart from this, this device will show how much time it took to
generate passwords. The longer the password, the device will take that much
time. It can take 3 days or more for unlocking the password of six digits.
Once the phone is unlocked, the
full content of the file system can be downloaded. This content will be
downloaded in GrayKey itself. Interestingly, this document does not tell you
whether to connect the iPhone to this device again to insert content for the
second time. It is possible that the files can be downloaded via Over the Air
(OTA).
GrayKey Device Price
According to the report, GrayKey
device is available in two variants. The first is $ 15,000 (about Rs 9.70
lakhs), while the second variant is $ 30,000 (about 19.53 lakhs). For the first
variant you need to have internet separately whereas in other variants Internet
options will also be available.
